A focused workshop on the future of coatings compliance

The 2026 Workshop on Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS), Percentages of Hexavalent Chrome in Trivalent Chrome, and Cadmium Plating Properties is organized by ASTM Committee B08 on Metallic and Inorganic Coatings. The one-day, in-person workshop brings together manufacturers, OEMs, material consultants, and end-users to address one of the coatings industry’s most pressing challenges: identifying and implementing compliant replacements for PFAS, chromates, and cadmium under evolving global regulations.

The workshop will cover PFAS and chromate detection methods, recommended cleanup and replacement practices, and key performance tests — including coefficient of friction, open circuit potential, and corrosion resistance — to qualify replacement materials.

Vibrantz presenting: The Forever Factor in Ceramic Cookware

Charles Baldwin, Global R&D Manager and Porcelain Enamel Ceramic Coatings Lead, will present The Forever Factor in Ceramic Cookware, exploring how high-performance ceramic coatings and porcelain enamels deliver the durability, safety and non-stick performance that consumers demand — without relying on PFAS chemistries. As regulatory pressure on “forever chemicals” continues to grow, ceramic-based coating systems represent a proven, compliant path forward for cookware manufacturers worldwide.
